Evelyn “Bobbi” Trout and Amelia Earhart

As George Akimoto's reputation grew, he was commissioned to paint notable aviation subjects.  This page of the exhibit will present his commission to paint portraits of two famous aviatrixes - Evelyn “Bobbi” Trout and Amelia Earhart.  All images on this page are from the George Akimoto personal collection courtesy of his daughter Tracy Williams.

Along with the portrait of Evelyn “Bobbi” Trout, George Akimoto was also commissioned by the aviation historian Carol Osborne to paint the portrait of Amelia Earhart that would be used on the cover of the book written by Carol Osborne and Amelia’s sister Grace Muriel Earhart Morrissey.
