The San Diego Air & Space Museum seeks a Custodian to join our team. The full-time assignment is expected to be one month or less but may lead to a permanent part-time or full-time position.
The Curatorial department and Fabrication Technicians provide a key service in developing and maintaining the overall look and experience of the Museum galleries. The Fabrication team works closely with the Museum curators and is responsible for the repair and maintenance of gallery exhibits and assistance in the construction of new exhibits.
The STEM Education Assistant/Bus Driver drives the Museum’s mobile classroom to various locations in San Diego County and assists the Museum instructor at each site. This position is part-time but may lead to a full-time position as grant funding allows. The Museum will pay for required commercial driver training for the right candidate without bus driver certifications but willing to drive.
Guest Experience Representatives are responsible for providing excellent customer service to museum visitors by answering questions, selling museum admission tickets, Balboa Park Explorer Passes, museum memberships, operating flight simulators, staffing retail store, café, 3D/4D theater, and interpreting exhibits. Duties specific to this position include POS system and credit card terminal operation and daily register accounting and balancing.
