Between 1918 and 1926, 35 pilots died while flying the mail. Additionally, there were countless accidents which severely injured many pilots. Because of this, serving as an airmail pilot was considered one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Below is a sample of images of airmail crashes from SDASM's archives.
