The collection contains 92 manuscripts, written/compiled between early twentieth century and early 21st century. These manuscripts range from television and movie scripts to flight logs, accident reports, personal recollections, and memoirs.
Admiral Marc Mitscher had long and distinguished career in the US Navy as both aviator and ship commander. Mitscher’s strategies were crucial to the Allied forces during WWII.
Mark Irwin worked for Convair as the Chief of the Film and Video Group from 1944 to 1977, during one of the most innovative and productive times periods of the company's existence.
Mary was a ferry pilot in WWII who would marry Jack Ford. In 1957, Hollywood produced a movie based loosely on the couples’ interesting life. Titled "The Lady Takes a Flyer,” the comedy-drama starred Lana Turner and Jeff Chandler as Jack and Mary Ford.
Michael O'Malley served with Torpedo Squadron 11 on Guadalcanal during World War Two. He recorded the events he witnessed in a diary.
