On Friday, May 8, 2015, the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, one of the most diverse arrays of World War II aircraft ever assembled flew over the WWII Memorial, National Mall, and our nation’s capital to honor the heroes who fought in the War and those on the home front who produced the tanks, ships, and aircraft which enabled the United States and its Allies to achieve victory.

Throughout 2015, a series of events across the country will commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II. The San Diego Air & Space Museum will update visitors to the Museum, our website, and our followers on social media throughout the year.
In support of this year-long effort, the San Diego Air & Space Museum is pleased and proud to support the WWII 70th Anniversary Commemoration by providing a web site for organizations and people to register flyovers by WWII aircraft in communities throughout the United States on Saturday, August 15, 2015. As the General Secretariat of the “Keep the Spirit of 45 Alive” weekend, the San Diego Air & Space Museum is encouraging as many groups as possible to participate in this salute to the WWII legacy of American airpower.
