This online exhibit looks at some of the digitized oral histories that had been lost for decades in the Archives of the San Diego Air & Space Museum. These oral histories were told by many famous people involved in aviation and were recorded on obsolete formats such as reel to reel tape.
A reel-to-reel tape player.
In the past few years, these oral histories have been digitized and placed on Archive.org. We received assistance in digitizing these gems from the California Revealed project. We hope you enjoy these stories told by those that lived them. You might also be interested in some more recent oral histories, that appear on our YouTube channel. Please note: because of their age, some of the volume on these stories are faded, so you have to turn the volume up high to hear them well.
