Today, dogs are still “man’s best friend” and fly now more than ever before. According to the US Department of Transportation, over two million pets and other live animals are transported by air every year in the United States. Of that amount, thousands are rescue animals being ferried by pilots from all-volunteer organizations such as Pilots N Paws and Wings of Rescue, who deliver these animals to foster homes, safe shelters, and forever homes.
