When not developing zoo-related projects, Faust created bas-relief sculptures, sand castings, watercolors, and a wide variety of drawings and paintings for both private and commercial clients. Faust artistic creations are exhibited in several public buildings.

One of the most prominent of these, created in 1966, is on display at the San Diego International Airport, depicting San Diego’s important role in aviation history. San Diego was known for many years as the “Air Capitol of the West.” Faust illustrated this important history through a three-dimensional representation of aviation and aeronautics development. This subtle artwork welcomes airport visitors to the bustling ground level entrance of Terminal 1.
