Ryan Aeronautical was established by T. Claude Ryan, and his company became one of the most influential aerospace companies in history.
Sam Heron was an aviation engineer, technician, and inventor who helped to develop the first successful air-cooled engine systems, as well as making various other notable contributions to the field.
This collection contains materials collected by and related to the Scavuzzo Family including Frank and Jeanne Scavuzzo. It includes biographies, photographs and personal items of the family. The majority of content is military records of Frank Scavuzzo.
The San Diego Department of Education produced these space-age educational teacher kits in the late 1960s for in-classroom use in educating elementary students about space science. The boxes are stamped from Castle Park High School in Sweetwater Union High School District. The material was produced in cooperation with the San Diego County Department of Education’s Community Educational Resources, The San Diego Unified School District, and the National Defense Education Act Administration of the California State Department of Education.
“Southern Star” is a newsletter that was typically published every two weeks. The issues in this collection range from March 1968 to January 1988. The size of the newsletters – which differ from 4, 6, 8, or more pages – varies every other week. The newsletters also tend to skip a week ahead of the two-week publishing trend, and occasionally are published early one week.
