Walter Addems was an Early Bird who devoted much of his life to aviation. He was a barnstormer, mail pilot, Director of Flight Operations, and built a replica Nieuport XI in his 60s, flying it to SDASM at age 83.
The material primarily relates to his days with the AVG-Flying Tigers from early 1941 through July 4, 1942, as well as later correspondence and documents relating to AVG-Flying Tigers publications. Included are aircraft records and service logs, maps and blueprints, newspaper clippings, photographs, and souvenirs.
The collection contains materials collected by and related to Warren Wendt during his career with General Dynamics. The collection includes documents, correspondence, news articles and clippings, and photographs.
These materials were collected, acquired, and donated to the San Diego Air & Space Museum over a long period of time and used as background material to create the book Wheels to Wings, in preparation for the Ford Building's 75th anniversary in 2010.
The collection consists entirely of folders and books containing photocopies of images of and from the Hubble Space Telescope, including descriptions of images and results of experiments.
