Kenneth Wise served as a Bombardment Pilot with the 505th Bomb Group in the Mariana and Philippine Islands. He was also a Tower Operator at LAOAG Field, Luzon, Philippine Islands for three months. In July 1945, as the war was ending, Wise was flying B-29s over Japan. On August 8, he flew with ninety-one other B-29 bombers and made his last drop on Fukuyama, located in the Hiroshima prefecture. The collection contains personal and professional aviation-related material and documents from 1943-45.
Laura Little was a San Diego-based pilot and a realtor at La Jolla's Century 21 Village Properties. She is originally from Northport, Maine. She earned her pilots license at age 57 and was a member of the San Diego Chapter of the 99s, serving as treasurer in 1972 and 1973.
Lawrence Crum received his U.S. Navy Aviator wings in 1942 and served on the USS Ranger during WWII & Korean War. The collection contains numerous photographs of the USS Ranger, certificates and personal documents.
The personal collection of Lee Francis Duncan, who flew from 1925 and through WWII, where he flew as a noncombatant as an United Air Lines Pilot for Army Transport in the Pacific between 1943 and 1945.
Leonard Sylvester Reinhart was born November 22, 1919 in Bascom, Ohio. Leonard had six siblings and they all grew up and were schooled in Ohio. Leonard enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces on December 18, 1942, and was trained to maintain the B-17 aircraft, serving the majority of his military time at Amarillo Field, Amarillo, Texas.
