Exploring Our Collections

​We have continued to improve our various collection databases and our offerings online to the general public. Much of this work has been accomplished through a series of federal and foundation grants. In the past several years, the Institute of Museum and Library Studies (IMLS) has contributed over $250,000 in grants for our Great Explorations project, first Phase I and now Phase II.

San Diego Air & Space Museum receives 2016 Award for Excellence in Community Service in Education

The Museum was nominated for the award by Martin Teachworth, who teaches science at La Jolla High School and has participated in the Museum’s educational programming for several years. Mr. Teachworth commended the Education Department’s dedication to STEM outreach to San Diego students, particularly through multiple scholarships awarded in June and science and engineering competitions.
