Manufactured by McDonnel Aircraft Company, the F-4 Phantom featured in the Museum’s Pavilion of Flight pursuing a MiG-17 first entered service in December 1960. Over the next 19 years it was produced in large numbers – over 5,200 aircraft were built by the time manufacturing was complete.
The San Diego Air & Space Museum has received all kinds of donations over the years related to aviation. Most of the things you would expect to find in a flight centric museum. However, our curatorial collection contains strange, bizarre and random items that leave even us scratching our heads some times.
The Swap Meet includes plastic kits, wood kits, Diecast, toys, art, publications, memorabilia, flight gear and more.
