David Myhra is a U.S.-based author and researcher, actively publishing from 1980 to the present; he has published more than 130+ books, and dozens of eBooks & articles on varied historical topics, from Soviet-era aircraft carriers and Japanese battleships to X-planes and World War II German flying machines. His primary focus was the later; most of his books cover individual aircraft types, both paper-projects and full production warplanes, and their designers - many he personally interviewed. The Museum holds his collection.
The Dennis R. Jenkins Digital Only Space Collection contains space related images collected by Mr. Jenkins and covers all major American space programs, with a focus on the Space Shuttle. This collection contains approximately 167,000 images.
The Desert Warrior was a North American B-25 Mitchell that served during World War 2. The Desert Warrior took part in operations from El Alamein across Africa through Sicily. The ship flew 73 combat missions, dropped over l0 tons of bombs, shot down 3 enemy fighters, and logged 191 combat hours. This collection of images were donated by the family of Ralph Lower, the pilot of the Desert Warrior.
Schwarzer served in the Eighth Air Force 392nd Bomb Group during World War II. He flew various missions, including 23 over Germany, receiving a Purple Heart and Air Medal.
Donald Leroy Garrett was born on October 24, 1917 in Franklin, Nebraska. Little information has been found about his education and early years. He was qualified as a pilot and was a civilian flight instructor for the U.S. Army Air Force.
