Charles Wilson was a Co-Pilot on a B-17 during World War Two and became a POW.
Chester McMullin was a Lt. Colonel in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. As a Commander Pilot, he was assigned to fly dangerous missions from India to China in C-47s.
Chester Val Braun was born in New Jersey on February 11, 1924. With World War II in progress, Chester was educated at, and graduated from, West Point. He received training as an Army-Air Force pilot. While serving, he helped map Korea in the Reconnaissance Squadron. After leaving the service, he became a test pilot for Republic Aviation. In January 1942, he joined McDonnell Aircraft, which later became McDonnell-Douglas and then Boeing. He began his career with McDonnell as an Experimental Test Pilot; then in May 1955 he was promoted to Senior Flight Test Engineer.
Founded in 1929 as a partnership between Curtiss Aircraft and the Chinese government, China National Aviation Corporation the collection contains a Aug - Oct 1945 Pass-Down Log from the CNAC base in India.
Printed in 1947, this book shows the actions of the Chinese Air Force in the early days of World War Two. This book was scanned when it was on loan to the Museum. The illustrations focus on combat between the Chinese and Japanese in 1937-39.
