In the last year, many significant celebrations happened at the Museum:

• The unveiling of the new innovative and groundbreaking Mission Control mobile classroom which dramatically increases the Museum’s STEM outreach and programming and will bring education to where need is most critical in our local communities.
• The opening of Moon Base San Diego, a new family-friendly activity and education center offering hands-on, interactive and immersive learning activities for explorers of all ages who want to experience a trip to the Moon.
• The opening of the inspirational Breaking Barriers exhibit celebrating and honoring pioneering Black American aviators and astronauts throughout history centered around a life-like animatronic of Benjamin O. Davis, the first Black American Brigadier General in the United States Air Force who was instrumental in integrating the United States’ armed forces.
• The International Air & Space Hall of Fame Class of 2023 five prestigious inductees, including world-famous actor, space tourist and philanthropist William Shatner, Navy Cross recipient Royce Williams, Artemis astronaut Dr. Jessica Meir, American aviator and explorer Robert DeLaurentis, and General Atomics-Aeronautical Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in unmanned aerial systems.
• The Museum Library & Archives received a three-year Federal grant of $334,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to process, catalog, and digitize 120,000 historic photo negatives from the Consolidated/Convair/General Dynamics Corporation in San Diego,
