Dear Museum Supporters,

Wishing you all a Joyous Holiday Season and Happy New Year!

The Board and Staff of the San Diego Air & Space Museum are inspired by the generosity of supporters like you who believe in our mission.

Your End of Year Gift Keeps us Flying!
You help us continue to bring our rich history and educational programs to life for millions of people, and we have so much more to share! In 2024 our education team taught 350 STEM programs to empower 22,000 students to assume roles as NASA engineers and aviation scientists to explore the wide worlds of all things air and space. Bringing our highly trained and enthusiastic Museum educators to where our youth live and learn is vitally important. Powered by sunlight and CNG, Mission Control our mobile classroom travels to schools, after-school programs, preschools, libraries, community centers, and remote areas.

This past year we celebrated the incredible contributions by honoring heroes and recognizing visionaries who push boundaries in the fields of Air & Space.

Honoring Legends: Fly Me to the Moon
On July 20th, the San Diego Air & Space Museum brought history to life with Fly Me to the Moon: An Evening with Legends. Celebrating the 55th anniversary of Apollo 11, we honored space pioneer Buzz Aldrin and reunited guests with legends like Apollo 16’s Charlie Duke and Flight Director Gerry Griffin.

It was an unforgettable black-tie evening, where past achievements took center stage and the next generation was inspired to look up, dream big, and boldly pursue the stars.

Celebrating Excellence: 2024 Hall of Fame Induction
At this year’s International Air & Space Hall of Fame, the San Diego Air & Space Museum proudly celebrated the Class of 2024—trailblazers and innovators who have shaped the future of aviation and space. Held in the iconic Pavilion of Flight,

the evening brought together leaders and dreamers to recognize achievements that inspire the world to soar higher.

This year’s honorees embody courage, innovation, and excellence. Their stories are a call to all explorers—young and old—to aim higher, push boundaries, and believe in the impossible.

Thank you for joining us to celebrate the pioneers of flight and the future they inspire and to all who joined us in honoring these heroes who remind us that no dream is out of reach.

Coming February 2025: Da Vinci’s First Flight
Prepare to take flight with Da Vinci’s First Flight, a world premiere exhibition at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. Brought to life by the Artisans of Florence, this immersive experience unveils Leonardo da Vinci’s visionary flying machines and the untold story of Zoroastro of Peretola—a daring apprentice who may have tested Leonardo’s legendary designs.

Visitors will explore life-sized replicas, interactive flight simulations, and hands-on experiments that bring the Renaissance genius’s dreams to life. Da Vinci’s legacy reminds us that curiosity and imagination are the seeds of discovery. Don’t miss this extraordinary celebration of invention, creativity, and the endless pursuit of exploration!

You can feel the excitement and inspiration here at the San Diego Air & Space Museum, and now more than ever, we need your support!

Today, I hope we can count on you to step forward again with a gift to the Museum’s annual fundraising campaign. Your support ensures we can continue to carry out our mission to inspire the next generation of air and space enthusiasts with dynamic hands-on exhibitions and programming. Let’s make 2025 the best year yet!
