Last year the San Diego Air & Space Last year Library & Archives acquired an exciting collection from “the most daring woman in the world”, San Diego’s own Lillian Boyer (1901-1989). Boyer was a sensational aerialist during the 1920s and her collection of personal papers contains a time capsule of photos and documents pertaining to Boyer’s time as a stunt performer and barnstormer. The materials in this collection are now available for research including the digitization of her personal photo albums. Many of these photos are fragile and delicate relics of the 1920s and 30s and display her time as a barnstormer, traveling around to different State Fairs and exhibitions performing aeronautical stunts, as well as family trips, and photographs of friends she made through her adventures.

The collection’s finding guide and digitized photos are now available on the Museum’s website here.
