The “Summer of Discovery: Adventure Awaits” -- featuring air and space themed Scavenger Hunts, fun Family Movie Nights and engaging and immersive Special Exhibitions -- kicks off at the San Diego Air & Space Museum on June 1.

Air & Space Themed Scavenger Hunts
Throughout the "Summer of Discovery: Adventure Awaits," engaging and rewarding air and space themed Scavenger Hunts encourage visitors of all ages to explore different exhibits, with completers winning exclusive prizes. Experience and interact with the San Diego Air & Space Museum in a whole new and exciting way!

Family Movie Nights
Three of the always-popular San Diego Air & Space Museum's “Family Movie Nights” offer unique night-time experiences for families and young adults during the “Summer of Discovery.”

Saturday June 15: Disney Pixar’s “Lightyear.” While spending years attempting to return home, marooned Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear encounters an army of ruthless robots commanded by Zurg who are attempting to steal his fuel source.

Saturday July 13: “Tomorrowland” with George Clooney enthralls families as a teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.

Saturday August 3: NASA must devise a strategy to return “Apollo 13” to Earth safely after the spacecraft undergoes massive internal damage putting the lives of the three astronauts on board in jeopardy in Ron Howard and Tom Hank’s now classic about the one of the finest moments in American space exploration history.

Engaging Special Exhibitions
*Throughout the “Summer of Discovery: Adventure Awaits,” the Museum’s unique “SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure” will engage audiences with its unique exhibits and narratives, including the actual Apollo 9 Command Module, Moon rocks, space suits and more.
*The hands-on “ABOVE AND BEYOND” special exhibition exploring the future of aviation and space exploration and innovation will delight audiences during “The Summer of Discovery: Adventure Awaits.”

“Swing for the Stars” Charity Golf Tournament
Thursday August 8: "The Summer of Discovery" culminates with the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s “Swing for the Stars” Charity Golf Tournament. Join the Museum for a day of serious – and not so serious golf at Admiral Baker Golf Course, one of San Diego’s true gems. You’ll be playing for a good cause as proceeds benefit the Museum’s education programs.
