Since opening in February, SPEED: Science in Motion -- a fun, interactive special exhibition exploring the technology behind the fastest vehicles known to man -- has been a popular draw at the San Diego Air & Space Museum.

Designed and Produced by Scitech and Produced by Imagine Exhibitions, SPEED: Science in Motion is an immersive and fun adventure for all ages, testing minds and bodies in a unique and engaging environment.

SPEED: Science in Motion features the fastest vehicles mankind has every produced, including space ships, rockets, planes, trains, race cars, motorcycles, jet boats, and more!

In a move never tried before, the Museum is switching out the vehicles with new themes each month. “Land-Speed Record Holders” debuted in February, followed by “Drag Racers” through March. April’s theme is “Race Boats,” with “Speed, Elegance and Electric” coming in May.

“Sports Cars” dominate June and “Hot Rods” heat up in July. “Motorcycles, Bicycles and Lowriders” rumble into town in August, and “Open Wheel and Go Karts” take over in September. A rare glimpse of “Hollywood and Movie Cars” debuts in October, and “Drift, Rally and Interactive Cars” zoom in for November. “Off Road” vehicles take off in December.

Check back to our website for monthly updates to the themes for SPEED: Science in Motion.

SPEED: Science in Motion runs through 2018 and is open every day from 10 a. m. to 5 p.m. except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Tickets are available at the admissions desk.
