Join us this summer for half-day camps for TK-12th grade as we explore all things aviation and space. Use the Engineering Design process to build create, test and modify your creations to make them the best they can be. Explore the Museum and then use the objects as inspiration for hands-on activities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Camps this year will also include a camp shirt.

Registration opens for Museum Members on March 2, 2024. General registration opens on March 4. Member rates are for Air & Space Museum Members. Balboa Park Explorer Pass holders will pay regular camp prices.

This year’s Summer Camps include:

Astronauts in Training (Grades: 1-2)
Blast off to the moon and beyond as we learn the ins and outs of becoming an astronaut. Build rockets, create spacesuits, and learn all about life off planet.

Junior Flight Crew (Grades: 1-2)
Fly around the world as we stop in various countries to experience the local culture as we learn about jobs around planes.

Top Gun (Grades: 3-5)
Join the elite squad as we learn to fly, build planes, and discover naval aviation.

Space Frontiers (Grades: 3-5)
Journey to the edge of the galaxy and beyond as we construct spacesuits, code robots, and look at imagery to create art from the James Webb Telescope.

G.I.R.L.S. in Aviation (Grades: 5-8)
G.I.R.L.S (Gender Inclusive Refuge for Learning STEM) Discover your place in aviation as we solder, sew, and engineer. Meet mentors from aviation in this middle school hands on exploration camp.

Aviation Simulations (Grades: 6-12)
Master the basics of flight, navigation, and instrumentation on our computer simulators, plus engineer prototypes of your own aircraft gliders. With instruction by actual pilots, this camp is great for the future aviator!

High School Teacher Assistant (Grades: 9-12)
Would you like to volunteer to assist in the classroom during camp? We are looking for energetic, outgoing, and full of fun teens to help at our camps this summer. This is a great resume builder, and can help get those valuable volunteer hours. Perks include free admission to the museum, trying out teaching and the non-profit sector, helping students succeed and much more. Astro”tot”s (Grades: TK-K)
Blast off into space while we learn about the moon, the sun, rockets, and all things out of this world. This camp is for rising TK and K members to come on their own without a caregiver. *Must be potty-trained. Part of the Museum Little Engineers line up.
