Picture all the joys of Summer Camp — smiling faces, snacks in hand, themed outfits ready, and curiosity set for launch. The San Diego Air & Space Museum offers dynamic camps for students in TK through 12th grade. Yes, middle and high school students can dive into new skills, explore career pathways, and have serious fun while doing it. Summer at the museum is hands-on, high-energy, and built for discovery.
Students in grades 5–9 can step into the world of Spy Camp, sharpening observation and disguise skills while creating codes and invisible ink. Campers even use robots to transmit secret messages and explore how labs analyze data to support field operatives. Along the way, they’ll discover how the aerospace industry has played a role in real-world intelligence and surveillance.
Aviation Simulation is a longtime favorite for aspiring pilots. At Balboa Park, campers engage with guest speakers, computer flight simulations, aerospace engineering challenges, and foundational ground instruction. At Gillespie Field, the focus expands to engineering and the science of flight, complete with airport field trips and aircraft observation. It’s so popular that many campers return year after year to continue their journey.
Third through fifth graders can blast off with Space Scouts or join the elite Top Gun camp. New this year is RoboQuest, an exciting exploration of robotics, coding, and how these technologies shape our daily lives.
Camps are now open for registration — and filling quickly. Join us this summer for hands-on, interactive adventures and make new friends while exploring aviation and space at the museum!
