The Kid's Aviation Action Hanger will be closed in preparation for our new kids area, Moon Base San Diego!
Ask yourself, how many of your friends, families and neighbors have taken up gardening over the past two years? Chances are, the number is higher than you think.
And guess what, so has the San Diego Air & Space Museum.
Under the direction of Cassandra Smith, the Museum’s Senior Events Manager (who by the way, has a world-class garden of her own at home), the Museum converted the plant area in the fountain in the Pavilion of Flight into a sustainable vegetable garden, growing everything from tomatoes and carrots to peppers and lettuce and much, much more.
To celebrate this conversion, the Museum will be hosting a special “Refuel + Cultivate: Urban Sips & Garden Tips” experience on Friday, Oct. 8 from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the Museum’s Pavilion of Flight.
Guests will enjoy craft cocktails and connecting with the San Diego Makers supporting our gardening community. Experience a great opportunity to shop local while sipping on garden inspired cocktails and sampling small bites while traveling through time exploring in the Museum’s Space exhibit and galleries.
Four Garden-inspired cocktails will include a Basil Refresher, Lavender Martini, Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita and a Garden Lemonade. Family-friendly versions of each cocktail also will be available.
The evening’s entertainment will include:
