The family-friendly, re-imagined “Moonbase San Diego” activity center at the San Diego Air & Space Museum, offers hands–on, interactive and enjoyable learning activities for explorers of all ages who want to experience a trip to the Moon.
“Moon Base San Diego” provides parents and children ages birth to 12-years-old the space to imagine, learn, create, and explore emerging areas of STEM.
The “Moon Base San Diego” habitat immerses families in life on the moon with living quarters and a lunar surface they can explore. Children will enjoy visiting a NASA lunar lander capsule to take on the role of pilot and astronaut. An interactive wall gamifies learning about life on the moon. In the center of the room, children of all ages can sit and interact around tables of learning materials.
Other areas of interest include a book nook, desk space, and a moon habitat. Key elements to the room are the printed vinyl wall and floor graphics that will provide visual interest and unify the moon-focused theme.

The Museum invites families to experience life on the moon and expose them to the opportunity of STEM careers in aerospace. School field trips also will benefit from the learning activities in “Moon Base San Diego.”
The innovative Moon Base San Diego even features an infant area for secure play for our youngest guests and their guardians.
