Jeff Ackley attended the University of Wisconsin, receiving a BBA degree in accounting in 1985. He began his career with Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young) as a staff auditor in their Minneapolis office. He transferred to their Milwaukee office after one year, where he was promoted to senior auditor, then transferred to the tax department. In 1991, Mr. Ackley established Ackley & Associates, CPAs, providing tax and accounting services for small businesses, as well as financial planning and tax preparation services for individuals. It was during this time that Mr. Ackley became involved with various community and charitable organizations. This involvement included serving on the board of Positively Pewaukee, a non-profit community development organization; a term as treasurer of the Pewaukee Public Library Foundation, which was formed to raise funds for a new local library; and a position on the finance committee of United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin. In January of 2005, he sold his accounting practice and moved to California, where he took a position as a manager with Lindsay & Brownell, a CPA firm in La Jolla. Mr. Ackley became a partner with the firm in 2012. He provides tax and accounting services to individuals and businesses, with an emphasis on tax planning.
