Ivor Shier learned to fly in Ireland in 1972. Always having a love for helicopters, he received his helicopter rating in 1986, quickly turning it into a career, accumulating over 7,500 flight hours. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild he has developed an outstanding reputation with trustees and camera operators as a pilot they can depend on to get the best shots, while maintaining safety. Credited in many television shows, major motion pictures, and IMAX movies, Mr. Shier continues to build a growing company with a major emphasis on the film industry. He is renowned in the industry for coordinating large-scale events and productions involving multiple helicopters. He coordinated the America’s Cup Yacht Races live television broadcast, as well as supporting still-photography and corporate clientele. Mr. Shier has coordinated up to twelve helicopters and flown the annual off road races, including the Baja 250, Baja 500 and Baja 1,000. He has secured and managed long-term television contracts, and operates search and rescue helicopters in Mexico. He is the owner of Corporate Helicopters of San Diego, now with over 25 years of experience flying helicopters commercially, and 15 years buying and selling helicopters in a worldwide market.
