Ed Bolen is the President and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in Washington, DC., and a member of the board of directors of the National Aeronautic Association. Prior to joining NBAA, Bolen was president and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Bolen has also served as a member and chairperson of the Management Advisory Council (MAC) to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and a member of the Commission on the Future of the U.S. Aerospace Industry. Bolen has been long involved in the public advocacy campaign called “No Plane, No Gain,” a joint undertaking between the NBAA and GAMA designed to educate the public on the importance of business aviation. Bolen’s focus on the future of aviation and keeping it vital in the United States is by getting new technologies and new products into the marketplace and by improving the certification process by shortening the amount of time of the review, but not its comprehensiveness. He also believes sustainability, including the availability and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), is key to the future of business aviation.
