Onita Thorley Topping was a popular pilot of the 1930s. She held both a commercial pilot's rating and a Master Mechanic certificate, was a member of the 99s, and participated in various air derbies and contests.
The invasion of Normandy (Operation Overlord) took place on June 6, 1944. It was the largest amphibious invasion in history, and would not have been possible without a monumental coordination of logistical resources. This document lays the ground work for that effort.
The local chapter of the Daedalians was formed in 1964. The collection consists of all saved records from the flight and includes national and flight rosters of members, minutes of meetings, newsletters, correspondences and records of rewards presented to the flight.
