The collection contains individual and group photographs, racing event photographs of planes, equipment, and exhibits of the National Air Races from 1928 to 1938. Documents include a scrapbook, an autograph book from the 1934 races, and a three-ring binder of committee personnel and meeting records of the Cleveland National Air Race and Show Corporation relating to the 1929 races.
Clurman Bibb had an extensive career in California, working at North American Aviation, Ryan Aeronautical, Northrop Aircraft, and Douglas Aircraft for over thirty years.
Colonel Harold E. Fischer, Jr. was a fighter pilot in the Korean War. He was credited with shooting down 10 Soviet-made Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-1MiG-15 fighters, enough to qualify him as a double ace during the War.
“The Consolidated News” was a newsletter that was published weekly during World War II. The majority of the newsletters in this collection are from the San Diego Division, and most of the newsletters are bound together in four hard cover albums.
Consolidator was the employee newsletter for the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation from 1936 to 1942.
