Harold A. Fisher Personal Papers

Harold Albert Fisher (1919-2009) served as an administrative officer for Air Group Eight during WWII. He later served as the Bureau of Aeronautics Representative to the Grumman Aircraft corporation, where he continued working after the war.

Harold Kantner Personal Papers

Harold DeWolf Kantner spent his life in aviation in a variety of roles. He attended the Moisant School of Aviation in 1911 and received license no. 65. He went on to fly, test, design and build planes as well as instructing others on flying. He also designed an outboard hydroplane that won many regattas. During World War II Kantner worked for Consolidated Vultee in San Diego as a design engineer. Kantner was a longtime member of the Early Bird organization. This collection covers the different aspects of Kantner's career.

Harry H. Haw Personal Papers

Harry Haw served the U.S. Army as a pilot in the 514th Observation Squadron from 1917 to about 1930, after which he became a civilian transport pilot before moving to San Diego, CA, and becoming a science teacher.

Harry Fahrney Young was born on 18 December 1899 at Frederick Maryland and grew up with an aunt. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1920 and became an aviation rigger.

Hazel Smothers Personal Papers

Hazel Smothers was born in 1929 in San Luis Obispo. She held numerous licences and certificates for aircraft, received several honors, was a deputized pilot for San Luis Obispo Sheriff's office, and won her division of the 1969 "Powder Puff Derby."
