The Kid's Aviation Action Hanger will be closed in preparation for our new kids area, Moon Base San Diego!
These materials were collected, acquired, and donated to the San Diego Air & Space Museum over a long period of time and used as background material to create the book Wheels to Wings, in preparation for the Ford Building's 75th anniversary in 2010.
The collection consists entirely of folders and books containing photocopies of images of and from the Hubble Space Telescope, including descriptions of images and results of experiments.
Wilhelm Schult was a designer and researcher at Ryan Aeronautical who, in the 1930s, began his own independent research into the flying wing aircraft design.
Willard Martin (b. 1917) began to work at Convair in the 1940s as a metal worker eventually serving as Operations General Supervisor, supervising experiment department operations and more through the 1970s.
William Frank "Bill" Chana, Chicago native born in 1921, was a noted aviation consultant. He enjoyed an illustrious air and space career of over sixty years, spanning a number of memorable events.
