“The Lockheed Star” was a newsletter that was published every two weeks or monthly. The issues in this collection range from February 1946 to December 1994. The size of the newsletters varies per year.
This collection contains 4 large boxes which contain both original and photocopied documents, articles and book excerpts. The collection focuses on individuals, aircraft, conflicts and units related to Mexican civil and military aviation.
The collection contains materials related to the early history of Pan American Airways. The material includes information on the first flights, aircrafts used, airline acquisitions and mergers, correspondence, and personal papers of people related to Pan Am.
The Stinson family were well-known in the field of Aviation, setting records, performing firsts and establishing businesses within Aviation. The collection contains materials collected by and related to the Stinson family of pilots, including Katherine Stinson, Marjorie Stinson and Eddie Stinson.
Col. Theodore C. Macaulay USAF (Ret.) was an early bird of aviation with a varied career. He became chief instructor and manager for various Curtiss Schools (including San Diego) and served USAAC as a part of the Army Air Transport Command.
