An aviation enthusiast from childhood, Lindell Hendrix (b 1921)enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and served in England with the 8th Air Force. After WWII he served in Aerial Photography, 51st Fighter Group, and Intelligence. Discharged in 1950, he became a test pilot for Republic, aircraft salesman, and then turned to freelance writing.
