The San Diego Air & Space Museum’s 20th Annual Space Day celebration is set for Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Museum’s Pavilion in Balboa Park. Space Day features demonstrations and fun, hands-on activities with local and national space industry experts.
New this Year: In partnership with the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, guests at Space Day explore how cell phones and space interact. Activities include moon mining cell phone minerals, satellite building for phone connection and opinion wall about cellphones and space.
"Stomp Rockets" are always a big hit at Space Day.

The Museum’s unique SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure is also open for viewing throughout the event, including the actual Apollo 9 Command Module, moon rocks, space suits and more. The exciting Da Vinci’s First Flight special exhibition exploring one of the forefathers of flights concepts for human flight also is included with Space Day.
Space Day is included with the price of admission to the Museum. Youth groups and chaperones of 10 or more that preregister at education@sdasm.org are free.
