Due to December Nights, the Museum will not have its regular Free Tuesday on December 13th.

Artemis 1 Orion Splashdown

NASA and the San Diego Air & Space Museum are collaborating on a celebration to commemorate the Orion Splashdown.   The uncrewed Orion spacecraft is scheduled to complete the 25-day Artemis I lunar mission with Splashdown in the Pacific Ocean Sunday morning.  Crews from NASA and the US Navy will recover the spacecraft and process it for return to the mainland.

Artemis I is the first in a series of mission that will land the first woman and person of color on the Moon over the next few years. Artemis I was designed to test NASA’s new space launch system, the Orion spacecraft and collect science data to prepare for future Artemis missions.

At 10am, included with admission the Museum, we will have the NASA feed playing in the Pavilion as well has various members from NASA to answer questions. There will also be hands on activities for children as well as a photo op with Snoopy. The children activities will go until noon and Snoopy will be available until 1120am.
