Each year the San Diego Air & Space Museum runs an exact replica of the engine the Wright Brothers used for the first powered flight on Dec. 17, 1903.
The demonstration of the running engine is the Museum’s way of commemorating the first powered flight in human history on Dec. 17, 1903. The original engine was designed and built for the Wright Brothers by Charles E. Taylor.
Santa’s recently retired “Santa One” – the most famous and earliest flying aircraft of all time – has been refreshed by the Museum’s World Famous Restoration Team for display in the Museum’s Rotunda through Christmas and New Year’s
