The San Diego Air & Space Museum had a distinguished guest when Henry Ford III, the great, great grandson of Henry Ford, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, visited the Museum on Thursday, May 3.

Mr. Ford was at the Museum to help hand out more than a 150 scholarships to local deserving high school seniors as part of the San Diego County Ford Dealerships Salute to Education Scholarship Announcement Ceremony.

His visit was fitting, as the Air & Space Museum is housed in one of the original Ford Buildings. The Building was actually built by the Ford Motor Company for the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition and is one of the crown jewels of Balboa Park.

Several local media outlets covered the Salute to Education and interviewed Mr. Ford about the importance of education.
