San Diego Air & Space Museum Summer Camps

back to articles

Join us this summer for half-day camps for TK-12th grade as we explore all things aviation and space. Use the Engineering Design process to build create, test and modify your creations to make them the best they can be. Explore the museum and then use the objects as inspiration for hands-on activities in Science, Engineering and Technology. Camps this year will also include a camp shirt.

The Museum’s Summer Camps include:

  • Astro”tot”s is for rising TK and K students who want to learn about the solar system. Children should be potty-trained and are coming independently.
  • Astronauts in Training and Junior Artists and Astronomers are for rising 1st and 2nd graders to explore the universe and see if they can be an astronaut
  • Superheroes of Engineering, Moonbase, and Need for Speed are for rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who want to be fast, creative, and ready for action.
  • G.I.R.L.S. in Engineering is our Gender Inclusive Refuge for Learning STEM that introduces middle school students grades 5-8 to sewing, soldering, robotics and more
  • Aviation Simulation is for middle and high school students (6th thru 12th grade) to learn what it takes to be a pilot with a ground school and computer simulation experience.

The Museum also has a High School Volunteer Intern Program for 9th-12th students. Join us to help in our classroom for volunteer hours this summer.
