FS-001 is the first prototype of the very successful MQ-8B FIRE SCOUT Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Based upon a civilian Schweizer helicopter platform, it incorporates highly reliable turbine power for endurance and maintainability. Capable of operating from all air-capable ships as well as from land bases, the aircraft offers eight hour continuous system on station coverage, transmitting continuous situational awareness to ground based decision makers from a variety of electronic sensors on board. Fully integrated with all branches of the service, real time data is delivered to and shared by Marines, Navy, Air Force and Homeland Security. Forces and targeting data can be provided to all potential shooters, reducing engagement timeliness while minimizing the exposure to enemy fire.
