The R44 is a single-engine helicopter equipped with a semi-rigid two-bladed main rotor, a two-bladed tail rotor and a skid landing gear. It was designed by the Robinson Helicopter Company as a replacement for the lightweight R22 Series helicopters in the late 1980s. It has an enclosed cabin with two rows of side-by-side seating for a pilot and three passengers.
The Fokker Dr.I triplane is one of the most famous aircraft in aviation history. Its indelible association with the Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen, the fact that it was flown by practically all of Germany's top aces and leading squadrons during the period of 1917 to 1918, plus its unique three wing configuration – all contribute to its fame.
The Albatros fighter series consisting of D.I through D.Va models were the primary German fighter aircraft of World War I. The D.I model was introduced in September 1916, just as the first German fighter squadrons were being formed.
The Fokker Eindecker was a German World War I monoplane single-seat fighter aircraft designed by German engineer Anthony Fokker. Developed in April 1915, the Eindecker was the first German fighter aircraft fitted with a synchronizer gear; this enabled the pilot to fire a machine gun through the arc of the propeller without striking the blades.
This sturdy, compact biplane armed with a synchronized machine gun and a V-8 engine, debuted in 1916 after overcoming several teething problems. It was a success with both French and British Air forces, with the British building them under license.
