This week in SPEED: Killer Cower Dragster

San Diego Gear and Axle is home to the Killer Crower dragster. They are also sponsors of the Barona 1/8th mile Drag Strip here in San Diego.

Killer Crower, driven by Eily Stafford, is a 200 mph blown, alcohol fueled, front engine, 7.0 Pro nostalgia dragster. Nostalgia cars built to today’s safety standards, look like those that raced back in drag racings’ golden age. The crew has two California Hot Rod Reunion wins, a Bowling Green National Reunion win, and a March Meet win to their credit. San Diego Gear and Axle also uses this vehicle to test new drivetrain components.

The Killer Crower is driven by Eily Stafford. She attended her first drag race when she was 12 years old and by age 16, had begun training at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School in Pomona, CA. She graduated with top honors from San Diego Miramar College in 2009 with an AS in Automotive Technology and has been driving for over 14 years on the nostalgia side of drag racing. Eily has driven everything from injected altereds and competition coupes to blown alcohol dragsters, with a career-best E.T. of 6.90 seconds on the quarter mile at 202 mph. She currently drives the Killer Crower 7.0 Pro Blown Alcohol Dragster in the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series. She’s driving the Valley Head Service, blown alcohol Dragster in the American Nostalgia Racing Association (ANRA) series.
